Principle

The Lemer Pax storage unit allows to safely store Iridium 192 wires while protecting the operators and the environment from both contamination and isotope radiation. The shielded bench complements the protection during the wires fractionating and preparation.

Technical description

Storage unit:

• 4 storing areas of 10 cavities (40 in all) of diameter 20 mm.
• Key locked security shielded door.
• Biological protection with 50 mm of lead on 6 sides.
• Sliding closing caps made of 6 mm thick tungsten in front of each cavity.
• 4 hinged sliding doors with key lock.
• The inside of the cavities are stainless steel lined.
• The cavities are fitted with decontaminable wire-holder with depth stop.
• The 15° inclined front gives an ergonomics workplace.

Shielded bench:

• Biological protection of 50 mm lead under the work area and on the frontal shield.
• A 110 mm thick lead glass vision window inclined at 30°.
• Easily decontaminable finish (white decontaminable coating).
• Fitted on 4 adjustable feet (diameter 120 mm) from 0 to + 50 mm.
